Over 250 mint entire's housed in two albums, a very large and varied series of designs, including Flags, Liberty designs, some with slogans, eagles, some from the Confederacy, a great number of humorous types with hilarious but very cryptic slogans and imagery, several Berlin & Jones types in full color, many with heroes and generals of the Union army, a good number showing blacks in an unfavorable light, many are multi colored, some skull and crossbones design foretelling the death and destruction of many, too many interesting items to describe all of them here, a very nice holding with many better types, chronicling the Civil War in all it's glory and shame.

A group nineteen items including letters with some interesting content as well as some ephemera, included is an 1843 letter from John Jay (grandson of John Jay, the first Chief Justice) discussing the Kansas-Nebraska Act, a bank draft signed by Thomas Dawes, patriot and later Senator from Massachusetts, certificate of employment for the Richmond Stage Company dated 1862, payment receipt dated 1779 for services rendered on expedition to Nova Scotia, 1778 letter from Hingham Mass with interesting content pertaining to the Continental Army pay and more, additional research on many of the letters also included, a scarce group with some historical significance.

image (Nevada) El Dorado Canyon, Nevada - The Mills Correspondence, 1881-95. Collection of 45 letters as well as seven covers related to correspondence and some misc. related items including stock certificate and two photos of the South Western Mining Operation in El Dorado Canyon (one a glass-plate photo); with first letter dated "Yuma, Jan 19, 1881" with content regarding traveling from San Francisco via railroad and Yuma…More than half the population we see on the streets here are Yuma Indians. They wear very little clothing., second letter dated "Steamer Gila, Feb 4, 1881" with content regarding traveling down the Colorado and…We are only three miles from the Mohave Indian Reservation where about 30 tons of the freight on board is to be landed and where I expect to mail this letter. Yesterday and today we have seen a large number of Indians along the shore, At one time yesterday I counted over 50 in sight scattered along the bank. At the present time there is 50 or 60 of all ages. Men, women and children standing and sitting along the bank looking at the steam boat., with additional detailed description including clothing, later correspondence from El Dorado Canyon with many latter letters on "South Western Mining Co., Lincoln Co., Nevada" letterhead with interesting content regarding the mines, 1882 letters from Prescott, Arizona and "Steamer Mohave, Colorado River" and much, much more, with covers including manuscript postmarks from El Dorado as well as latter cds, Very Fine, a fascinating correspondence spanning over thirteen years in the Southwest.
