10c Black Washington Imperforate on Folded Letter to Canada, mailed New York on JUN.9 (1849) and addressed to Amherstburg Canada West, "via Detroit" manuscript, through Queenston (JUN.12), Hamilton (JUN.13), London (JUN.14), Raleigh (JUN.15) and finally Amherstburg (JUN.15). The folded letter is franked with a 10c black Washington 1847 issue, with four large to well clear margins, tied by a red grid. There is also a manuscript "11½" rate marking. Ex. J.
