image Decimal Issues, 1859-64, 12½c yellow green, group of eight covers, including examples of the three perforation gauges, all single frankings save for a combination usage with a single 5c Beaver on December 1867 cover from Toronto to York, England, via New York, and a horizontal pair on January 1867 cover also to York, the balance comprising a 1860 cover from Montreal to Glasgow carried on the Allan Line "Bohemian," 1860 cover to Dorsetshire with "PAID / LIVERPOOL / COL PACKET" c.d.s., a particularly fresh 1863 folded cover from Toronto to Scotland with GLASGOW PACKET / PAID handstamp,1866 mourning cover from Waterloo to Scotland, 1867 cover from Cooksville to Ireland with fine circular "PAID / DERRY / NO 12 67 / COL PACKET" c.d.s., and a cover to Manchester with adhesive tied by Simcoe split-ring, condition slightly mixed, with usual imperfections to be expected, overall fine and a useful group for the specialist. image Nineteenth Century, group of three interesting items, including a vertical pair of Canada 3d red Beavers on cover, and two Henry Morgan-related items, one an 1894 response from Edwin Avery to Morgan's request for biographical information for an upcoming publication (with contents), the 3d Beaver cover shows manuscript "Paid" and has a FE 3 1852 Raleigh, U.C. cancel in addition to the two cancels tying the stamps, with Dundas and London markings on reverse, with 2003 Greene Foundation certificate noting the severe damage to the stamps, still an elusive cover for many collectors. These cards were sent by the Philatelic Centre to customers, announcing upcoming issues, and they replaced the previous PS-14 brochures for a period of time, until Canada Post found other published methods for delivering this information to collectors ("Collections Canada", "Details", etc.); superb for the ephemera collector or researcher of Canadian postal history.
