Hand-Drawn and Painted Album Pages for U.S. Commemorative Issues. Three volumes comprising about 150 pages, each decorated with hand-drawn watercolor paintings created by an amateur artist/collector most likely in the 1940's. Begins with the 1909 Lincoln Centenary issue and continues through the 1949 Minnesota Territory issue. The pages, for the most part, have been designed to hold mint and used singles, and blocks of four. Some of the pages have the stamps in place, while others do not. However, the real value here is not the stamps but the beautiful pages themselves. One can only imagine the literally hundreds of hours it must have taken to create these albums. In addition, two albums include an elaborate hand-drawn, colored frontispiece that draws on the Post Office motto. The photos are shown here to give you a good idea of the details in each painting but review the video to gain a better perspective of the entire collection. Philatelic folk art at its finest and surely one of our most unusual and unique offerings. Shipping charges apply - weight 15 lbs. (Image)
