image Accumulation of Mint and Used British Pacific Islands, 1900s-1970s, with many hundreds of stamps, on roughly 100 album pages and a few stock pages. A cursory look revealed better representation from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, New Hebrides, Samoa, just to name a few, with a small representation of primarily used stamps up to the 1920s' with a mix of mint and or used stamps, sets, and partial sets post 1930. Scott catalogue values are generally $2 and under per stamp, but did spot a few sets cataloguing $10 to $30 and up. A nice lot with possible finds for the patient collector. There is also some postmark interest, useful back of the book, used multiples, booklet panes, coils, etc. Some of the modern items are mounted with 2-sided tape (which in many cases were easily peeled off) and we noted a few stamps stuck down, still the great majority of the collection is fine to very fine, and easily worth our estimate. image Valuable Mint and Used Collection of Canada,1852-1953, neatly displayed in mounts on album pages, the collection starts off with two #4 (diff. papers/shades) a used #8 and a basic set of used First Cents issues (with shades and extras), a few used Large Queens, basic set of mint and used Small Queens to the 50c (the 1c, 20c and 50c are mint) plus a neat cover with 10x ½c issues addressed to Denmark, a full set of Jubilee issues (with a few extra shades), and looks complete mint to the end for regular issues, missing early coils, but includes KGVI booklet panes. Back of the book includes 11 different Admiral War Tax issues, including the three WAR TAX overprints, Airmails, 2c to 8c Registration stamps (all mint), plus an 1877 2c RLS on cover from Galt with boxed Railway cancel, plus a great offering of perforated and overprinted OHMS and G Officials on 6 pages. Some of the other extras include three stampless covers (1857-1873) including the earliest recorded strike of Kincardine C.W, an imperforate sheet margin pair of the 1898 2c Map stamp, three Canadian Pacific Railway illustrated stationery cards, (used KEVII, mint and used KGV all with diff. illustrations) as well as extra shades, etc. A quick spot check of the mint revealed mostly hinged at first, turning into a mix of hinged and never hinged, and we noted that some of the higher value early stamps ($1, $4, $5 Jubilee, 50c Edward, 20c Québec, etc.) have no gum or are regummed. We also noted a few stamps with thins, still quite a valuable collection, cleanly presented and overall fine or better. (Image)
