1885 (Mar) De La Rue color trial proofs for the 1886-96 issue, 2sh6p and 5sh, each with the keyplate in dull purple, values in blue and red, comb perf. 14, gummed, unwatermarked paper, matching lower right sheet corner margin blocks of six, with Plate No. "1", n.h., v.f. These were sent to Adelaide with the plates, no doubt in an attempt to win the printing contract.
