image Great Britain, Saved from wreck of the, "Wairarapa." (1894). Purple two-line handstamp on mourning cover to Auckland, N.Z., franked with 1887, 2½d violet on blue tied by "Bradford, Sp 11, 94" postmark, reverse with "Auckland, 3 No 94" receiving cds, Very Fine.
Estimate; $300 - 400.

At around 8 minute past midnight on October 29, 1894, the ship was wrecked on the steep cliffs near Miners Head on the northern tip of Great Barrier Island, off the cost of Auckland.
