image Soviet Zone, "Variety is the Spice of Life" Nearly Complete Mint Collection with Varieties, 1945-49, Not only is this collection nearly complete, but it has more than enough varieties to satisfy even the hardcore specialist. A clean and attractive collection in two hingeless Lindner albums, you'll need the Michel catalogue to fully appreciate this lot with its variations in watermarks, perforations, color shades and plate flaws. Take West Saxony, for example, with four values from the numeral series being rouletted (MiNr. 116C-19C) or Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 12N1 in a block of 15 with a major misperf, and 12N6 in two strips, one double perfed vertically, the other horizontally. Other highlights include 10N14a, 10NB11, 14NB16c (both wmk types), and 16N3a & 16NB4a (both with certs). The many pages added also house marginal copies, some blocks, and extensive coverage of the 1948 provisional overprints with district numbers 3 (Berlin), 16 (Apolda), 20 (Halle), 27 (Leipzig) and others. A fantastic collection to be further explored with page after page of varieties. Indulge yourself online with a full video flip of both volumes, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 9.8 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Video2 for this lot) (Image)
