image GREAT BRITAIN: Embossed Stationery; 19th and 20th Century with "Advertising Rings" 22 entires (6 unused), 6 cut square, 6 cut to shape, great destinations. France (2), Switzerland (2), Germany (2), Texas, Chicago and even China, mostly W.H. Smith but also "The Philatelic Quarterly", Perkins & Gollo, "... Stamp Album", " James Van Caillie", "William Lincoln" plus a UPSS issue of the material. Nice group.


W.H. Smith & Son was started in 1792 by Henry Walton Smith took control. The firm took advantage of the railway by setting up newsstands to service travelers. The firm had family control until the 1990's.
