Jul. 28, 1861" circular datestamp on cover to "Honl. A.H. Stephens, Vice President C.S.A. Richmond Va.", usual docketing on reverse indicates the cover was sent by the President of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce "enclosing proceedings of that body in relation to Confederate Finances" (enclosure no longer accompanies); slightly reduced at right and top with a couple of very tiny edge tears, and left stamp with light vertical crease, none of which detract from this scarce multiple rate use, Fine, ex Earl Kaplan, signed Trish Kaufmann with her description, with Jan. 1961 Raynor Hubbell letter offering the cover to a Mrs. House for $85.

The last one that was offered at auction sold for $45,000 hammer, ex Pegram, with 2006 P.F. and 2012 C.S.A. certificates, the former issued prior to the repair.
