image Two Pre-Production Items for the 1954 Gannet Issue, with a large progressive die proof in colour of issue printed on thin glazed card measuring 37 x 48mm. Also a photographic print of a different progressive proof mounted on a card mounted on an index sheet with order number and engraver's name. Both differ from the original with minute differences, such as an extra star in front of the Gannet's beak on the die proof, different shading around the "15c", etc. Very fine and scarce. Would be a great accompaniment to the 15c Gannet rates collection offered in our postal history section, perhaps as two great items for the title page of an exhibit. (Image)
