1860 5c Brown Charles Connell Unissued Stamp, unused (no gum) with a very light fake cancel. The stamp has clipped perforations at left (as do most genuine perforated stamps). None the less a very presentable example of this scarce stamp, which is missing from most collections and rarely offered. It is estimated that fewer than 50 perforated stamps remain (the rest were apparently burned) and very few of these are sound. This stamp was once owned by former Premier of New Brunswick Richard Hatfield and was sold at a New York auction soon after his death in 1987. Accompanied by a 1945 R.P.S.L. certificate (not mentioning the light cancel) and 2025 Greene Foundation certificate. (Image)
