image 1940, Pitcairn Islands First Issue FDC signed by Pitcairn Dignitaries & 17 Photos from the Era, three First Issue First Day Covers with "Pitcairn Island Post Office 15 Oct. 1940" double circle datestamps tying Nos. 1-8 on legal sized cover to Elder D.D. Fitch in Glendale CA with signatures of 5 Pitcairn dignitaries and their links to the original settlers (Chief Magistrate Daniel A. Young, Teacher Frederick P. Ward and his wife Myrtle L. Ward, Fred M. Christian, and Government Secretary Andrew C. Young), backstamped Mar. 17, 1941 (5 months!), plus FDCs of No. 1 unaddressed and No. 2 addressed locally to Fred P. Ward, also includes 1962 picture postcard to England signed by "John Christian, Chief Magistrate Pitcairn Island" with black & white images of Christian and his printed signature and the island on picture side (faulty bottom right corner), plus 17 black & white photos approx. 4½ x 3 inches showing people (including 6 foot 6 inches Fred Christian) and places on the Island and an 11 x 8½ inch map, Very Fine, fully imaged online.
