1812   imageMARTYNSIDE FLIGHT COVER - Crosbie Hotel, St. John's advertising cover bearing a $1 on 15c scarlet (#C2) tied by St. John's July 12, 1919 cancel, the second attempted flight by Raynham and Biddlecombe, shortly after takeoff on July 17 the airplane crashed and was wrecked; Raynham then personally carried the mail with him upon his return to England by ship; it later arrived in London and was backstamped on Jan.7, 1920, light central fold and some toning.
