1854 CANADA ADVERTISING COVER - Blue cover Dec. 6, 1854 from Henry Chapman & Co. with their double oval handstamp in red, agent's elaborate oval advert inside, mailed from Montreal to Portland, Maine, clear double arc dispatch in black with "6" rate
handstamp to collect (or 10¢ US postage), VF (Chapman & Co. were merchants serving as banking offices for Lloyds in Montreal. Chapman was also Consul in Montreal for Hanover, Italy, Prussia, Sardinia and Spain and Vice-Counsel for Sweden and Norway.
