1103 image1943 PRINCE-RUPERT-BC BLACKOUT CONVERSION, a registered letter bill between the PRINCE-RUPERT main post office and PRINCE-RUPERT-STN-B on SEP24'1943 showing the normal h/s at both offices, a second letter bill sent the next day shows both offices converted to Blackouts, this establishes the Prince Rupert Blackout conversion date of SEP25'1943 and has the only confirmed example of the Station-B blackout h/s, the rarest of all Blackout handstamp cancels, VF (Image) 200+

1104 image1945 VICTORIA-BC “FAMILY ALLOWANCE” BLACKOUT, Pitney-Bowes Blackout machine cancel dated JUL16'1945 on cover for the first Canadian Family Allowance Check (Baby Bonus), this is the only reported example of this Blackout cancel, the Pitney-Bowes machine was delivered to Victoria in early JUL'1945 and this Blackout hub was used only for the JUL'1945 Family Allowance mailings, the rarest of all Blackout machine cancels, VF (Image) 200+

1105 image1945 VICTORIA-BC EARLY “FAMILY ALLOWANCE” BLACKOUT REVERSAL, Pitney-Bowes regular hub machine cancel dated AUG16'1945 on a cover for the 2nd Canadian Family Allowance Check, Victoria had been instructed to convert from Blackout cancels to regular cancels on AUG31'1945, the VJ-DAY excitement of AUG14'1945 might have influenced the postal clerks and they converted this one Family Allowance mailing to regular cancels two weeks ahead of schedule, this is the only reported August example, all other Victoria machines used Blackout hubs until the designated AUG31'1945 conversion date, VF (Image) 200+

1106 image1945 PRINCE-RUPERT-BC LAST CANADA BLACKOUT CANCEL, all Canada Blackout cancels had been replaced by regular town cancels by SEP3'1945, the exception was PRINCE-RUPERT, this cover was posted at VANCOUVER on AUG21'1945 properly using their Blackout Pitney-Bowes machine as per directives, addressed to Captain Rex Robinson at LANGARA-ISLAND-BC + redirected to MASSETT-BC on SEP1'1945 + forwarded to PRINCE-RUPERT where the last reported Canada Blackout cancel was applied at 6:30PM-SEP4'1945, the cover journeyed onward to ZEBALLOS-BC on SEP9'1945 + JERICHO-BEACH-BC on NOV16'1945 + finally returned to sender, a rare late Blackout cancel on a wonderful redirected cover, VF (Image) 100+
