COLLECTABLES & COINS - BRITISH COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL - COMMONWEALTH PERIOD Trial and Acquittal of John Lilburn, 1649, struck silver medal, at one time attributed to Thomas Simon 'IOHN LILBORNE SAVED BY THE POWER OF THE LORD AND THE INTEGRITY OF HIS IVRY WHO ARE IVDGES OF THE LAW AS WEL AS FACT OCT 26 1649' in three concentric circles around bust of Lilburn l., in doublet and plain lace collar, rev. the names of the jurymen in four concentric circles around a central rose, 33mm. Very fine with light tone. John Lilburn was a political agitator whose trial acquitted him of the charge of High Treason for libelling Cromwell and Ireton.
