Feature Lot.

Lot 6812 - NIGER COAST PROTECTORATE - 1893 (3 Sept) Â½d on half of 1d with violet surcharge, an UNSEVERED PAIR, SG 8a, from the top-right corner of the sheet, very clear part 1893 Old Calabar cds. The violet ink only applied to the first row of stamps, so just 12 stamps were surcharged in violet, most being bisected or lost. Nicholson mentions this positional intact pair but unclear if another exists. A major rarity, cat £20,000.....Est. £10,000-11,000
