Worldwide Balances & Accumulations
Lot Sym. Lot Description
1795   Worldwide Collection. To 1980 in ten Scott International albums, plus separate albums for Israel and Ryukyu Islands, it appears a small number of countries were separated for sale (those pages are included in the lot but represent a miniscule fraction of the value), but the rest is all intact and as we go through it we see almost no empty spaces, in fact we feel very confident in stating over 99% of the spaces are filled, and there are extra stamps in the margins of the pages or on extra pages inserted by the collector, with value from all time periods, the strongest area is China, particularly People's Republic, which contains a nice run, many of the early sets are reprints and some of the later are cancelled-to-order, does include some of the better sets of the Cultural Revolution and souvenir sheets, also early Taiwan souvenir sheets, other better Asian countries such as Japan and Korea, early issues in mixed quality, later usually Fine-Very Fine

1796 og Worldwide Mostly Unused Collection. Offered intact as received, in 31 albums, better countries are in individual albums, and the lesser collected countries are packed into Scott or Minkus albums, better countries include France (with strong Back-of-Book and some Offices Abroad), Belgium, Mexico, Russia, and Canada, plus strength in unexpected areas such as Portuguese Colonies, Spanish Colonies, and Turkey, some British Commonwealth, particularly British Europe, and a nice run of omnibus issues, value is in 20th Century sets, though there are some earlier issues, overall a useful collection, with a large percentage Fine-Very Fine

1797   Worldwide Dealer's Stock. On retail sheets housed in 145 counter books, this is the non-British Commonwealth portion, so it includes Europe & Colonies, Latin America, and Independent Asia, Middle East and Africa, while there are a fair number of modern Mint N.H. sets priced at less than $10.00, much of the actual value lies in items from all periods priced in the $20.00-$80.00 range, and there are several sets and singles sprinkled throughout that are priced over $100.00 (including a number priced at many hundreds of dollars), there are some early stamps with faults (with the retail prices reduced accordingly), but a large portion is in Fine-Very Fine never-hinged, hinged, and used singles and sets, very little duplication, the perfect lot for someone wanting a wide-ranging stock that is already identified, priced and ready for sale, our estimate is a tiny fraction of the total retail value

SOLD for $10,500.00

1799   Worldwide Accumulation. Mostly in stockbooks, with stamps from all parts of the world, though the collector was most fond of Asia, particularly China, which includes Empire, Republic, Taiwan, and P.R.C. issues, the stockbooks are somewhat haphazardly arranged, as careful viewing will reveal several better items in amongst lesser valued stamps, also a Taiwan collection in two Scott albums, some retired A.P.S. approval books, and more, slightly mixed quality, though a large portion is Fine-Very Fine with many Mint N.H. sets, as mentioned above diligent examination is essential to find the true value, our estimate is conservative and takes into account the time required to sort through and prepare for resale

1800   Worldwide Portion of an Estate Many dozens of items on auction lot cards and on stockpages, much is British Commonwealth, but also some Europe and other areas, strongest are Great Britain and Canada & Provinces, some high-cataloguing classics such as Mauritius "PENOE" variety on the intermediate impression, complete sets such as the Canada 1897 Jubilee, many popular sets of the 20th Century, some better varieties and a few proofs, slightly mixed condition, 20th Century largely Fine-Very Fine, despite the mixed nature of the lot, there is plenty of value here to justify our estimate, which will likely prove too conservative

1801   Worldwide Collection. 1840-1940 in three Scott International albums (Part I), exceptionally well-filled throughout (including United States), and often contains the higher values of which there is no space for (these are mounted in the margins of the albums or underneath the lower values), early stamps mostly used, later period is mix of unused and used, with numerous complete sets, should be carefully inspected as we just happen to notice in Ascension there is the 1922 2p "blot on scroll" variety and 1924 1p with "torn flag" variety, slightly mixed quality, later stamps largely Fine-Very Fine
