II (11A), all stamps tied by blue "Cincinnati Ohio Mar. 4" circular datestamps on Spencer House Hotel Cincinnati overall illustrated buff advertising cover to St. Catharines, Canada West, beautiful depiction of horse-drawn carriage and pedestrians in front of the large hotel which is flying an American flag, Grosvenor imprint, also red "Geo. Moore & Co. Spencer House" embossed seal on backflap, red "Ud. States Paid 6d" in arc cross-border exchange office handstamp, manuscript "via Buffalo", backflap tear just extends to front at top, Very Fine, a scarce and beautiful hotel advertising cover to Canada with 1c and 3c 1851 Issue stamps, Spencer House opened in 1853 at a cost of $400,000, it was a prominent establishment until after the Civil War, when it suffered a decline and became a tenement house (Image)

Oct. 12" double-circle datestamp on buff cover to Pittsford Vt. with elaborate pencil illustrated design of a three-masted ship with flag and lighthouse, banner reads "H. F. Griggs", the stamp artfully placed over the lantern room of the lighthouse with Washington gazing down at the ship off-shore, the sender also evidently decided that perforations were unsightly and trimmed them off (along with the top and bottom labels) before affixing the stamp, missing part of backflap, still Very Fine, a spectacular illustrated design, possibly executed by Samuel W.
