VERY FINE. A CHOICE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 1916 HALF-PENNY GREEN & BUFF. ONLY 12 UNUSED EXAMPLES HAVE BEEN RECORDED.

Only 25 were printed. Gibbs records just twelve unused and four used (including two on cover). Several of the unused have faults, making the example offered here one of the finest examples in existence.

Without gum as issued, large margins all around, trivial horizontal crease in far bottom margin (easily trimmed), Very Fine, only 40 examples were printed on this lined paper, although it is believed a large quantity of this issue was lost due to the German bombing on London during World War II where a large holding was stored, Gibbs records a mere five unused examples (Image)
