VERY FINE. A CHOICE QUALITY EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE RAREST IMPRIMATURS IN GREAT BRITAIN PHILATELY.

Only a handful of imprimaturs of the 1882 £1 Brown Lilac have been recorded. At least two of them have had forged perforations added to simulate the issued stamp.
