EXTREMELY FINE. A CHOICE AND EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 1873 6-CENT DARK RED ON CREAM WAR DEPARTMENT REAY ENTIRE. ONLY SIX MINT EXAMPLES ARE RECORDED.

The UPSS catalogue records only six mint entires, plus four used. Full corners are also very rare. This is the first entire we have offered since our 1991 Rarities sale. The "Scarsdale" collection contained only a cut square.
