Circular datestamp with "PAID" straightline and "5" in circle handstamps, manuscript "Paid 5c" on red and blue 11-Star Confederate Flag Patriotic cover (F11-11) to Gainesville Fla., missing backflap and piece of top right corner, minor soiling, Fine appearance and scarce Florida use of this design, the unusual arrangement of the stars on this flag mirrors the 10-Star design with this same flag (F10-16), with the addition of the central star, the sender, Captain Myers, was commander of the 1st Florida Regiment's "Gainesville Minutemen", the recipient, Col. J. B. Dawkins, was a major figure in Gainesville and served as a member of the Confederate House of Representatives (Image)

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE FLAG DESIGN AND REGIMENTAL IMPRINT.

VERY FINE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE MULTICOLORED VERSION OF THIS 11-STAR CONFEDERATE FLAG PATRIOIC DESIGN.

This style of 11-Star Flag and Verse, published by J. W. Randolph of Richmond Va. is relatively common, but this multicolored version is extremely rare and only alluded to in the C.S.A. Catalog -- "Examples in color have been noted in the past but are not currently confirmed."
