Legal-sized folded cover with boxed "Exercito em Operacoes Contra o Paraguay." in black on mauve label affixed at top center and addressed to Corte, Brazil, boxed "Franca" handstamp as usual, Rio de Janeiro transit backstamp, cover with some faults incl. splitting along folds, otherwise Fine and rare on cover, also known as the Paraguayan War between the "Triple Alliance" of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay against Paraguay, this cover was most probably sent by a Brazilian solider enforcing the naval blockade of Paraguay (Image)
