Position 15 with right "Panama" 5mm below bar ("Canal Zone" overprint Pos. 86), fresh color, Fine and an extremely rare variety, according to Canal Zone Stamps, the two error panes of 100 were sold in 1908 by their original owner who claimed to have purchased them at the Administration Building in Ancon, only two positions on the sheet show the 4mm below bar variety (Positions 15 and 20), so only four can exist of this variety, unlisted in Scott which prices the normal inverted ovpt. at $450.00 (Image)

2759 og ImageCANAL ZONE, 1904, 8c on 50c Bister Brown, 15mm "Panama" at Right Only (15 var). With part imprint selvage at right, tropicalized original gum, attractive margins and centering

VERY FINE. A RARE PART IMPRINT EXAMPLE OF THE 1904 8-CENT ON 50-CENT BISTER BROWN CANAL ZONE ISSUE FROM THE RIGHT COLUMN WITH SINGLE 15MM "PANAMA" READING UP.

Only 50 of this issue with "Panama" measuring 15mm were printed. This example from the right column with single "Panama" was the result of a shifted ovpt. and is presumably one of only 10 that can exist. The part imprint adds to its desirability.

With 2004 P.F. certificate. Scott Retail as normal No. 15 with 15mm "Panama" without premium for the extra variety (Image)

2762 og ImageCANAL ZONE, 1907, 1c Green & Black, Inverted Center, Ovpt. Reading Up (22g). Sheet margin at top, slightly tropicalized original gum, perfectly centered, deep rich colors

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 1907 ONE-CENT BALBOA WITH INVERTED CENTER AND OVERPRINT READING UP. ONLY 22 COPIES ARE KNOWN UNUSED.

According to Canal Zone Stamps, one pane of 100 was printed. It was sold in March 1909 to the Panama Railroad Co. and all but 22 copies were used before the error was discovered. Only about thirteen used copies were recovered after the error was noticed. The stamp offered here, with sheet margin at top, is especially desirable.

Ex Drucker. With 1971 A.P.S. certificate. (Image)
