1447   High Quality United States Collection Offered Intact. In a Scott album, a large majority are Very Fine-Extremely Fine stamps that were purchased one-at-a time, a remarkable 425 certificates accompany, nearly all P.F. or P.S.E., including over 100 that are graded, the collection starts with the 1847 Issue and the value goes to the 1930s, the early issues are primarily used, including 5c and 10c 1847, plus both Reproductions unused, nice group of the 1857 Issue, including No. 29 graded XF 90 by P.S.E., an excellent representation of the 1861 Issue, including the grilled stamps (some unused in this period), 1869 Pictorials to 90c including an unused 24c, the Bank Note issues contain both unused and used, attractive Commemoratives, some decent Bureau issues, extensive Washington-Franklins, this is the period where more graded certificates will be found, capped off by a beautiful Mint N.H. No. 523 graded XF-Superb 95 by P.S.E., coils collected both as singles and line pairs, the later issues contain a plethora of graded certificates at 90 and higher, including Mint N.H. 8c Nebr. graded Superb 98 by P.S.E., Back-of-Book was similarly collected, with Air Post (including a lovely Mint N.H. Graf Zeppelin set - latter two graded XF 90), Special Deliveries, nice run of Postage Dues, Offices in China, Officials, Newspaper Stamps, Parcel Posts, and Hunting Permits, nearly all of the certificates are "clean" - not mentioning any faults, the tiny number (less than one percent) that are mentioned are quite minor

THE RARITY OF OFFERING ONE LOT AT AUCTION WITH THIS MANY HIGH-QUALITY SALEABLE STAMPS CANNOT BE OVERSTATED.

1448   High Cataloguing Balance of an Old-Time Collection. On Elbe pages in three binders, the collections was formed primarily in the 1960s and 1970s, the collection starts with some Postmasters' Provisionals and goes through the 1920s, plus there are some more modern errors, primarily an unused collection with a small number of used stamps and a few covers, multiples also augment the collection, many scarce and high cataloguing stamps throughout, for instance the 1851 Issue includes used No. 8, original-gum No. 8A, lightly cancelled No. 12, No. 13 strip of three on cover to Trieste, No. 14-16 se-tenant pair on piece, No. 17 unused single and used pair, later issues are similarly filled with scarcer items, particularly the 1861-67 Issues, which includes several unused grilled stamps, Bank Notes well-filled, Commemoratives just about complete including the Columbian and Trans-Mississippi sets, excellent run of Washington-Franklins, including better Bluish Papers and coils in singles and pairs, varieties sprinkled throughout, condition is mixed as expected on a collection formed in this period, however many original-gum Fine-Very Fine stamps will be found, some Mint N.H. as they are all housed in mounts, a valuable collection boasting an enormous catalogue value
