VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE $50.00 1941 SILVER TAX. ONLY EIGHT ARE BELIEVED TO EXIST, AND ONLY FOUR ARE UNUSED.
Eric Jackson records only eight examples of this stamp. Four are unused -- serial nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5. The first three are from the same sheet of four, and the example offered here is from the next sheet. This is the first in unused condition we have offered since keeping computerized records.

EXTREMELY FINE. ONLY THREE COPIES OF THE $500.00 SERIES 1941 SILVER TAX ISSUE ARE RECORDED. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SILVER TAX STAMPS IN EXISTENCE AND THE KEY TO A SIGNIFICANT COLLECTION OF THESE ISSUES.
The three recorded copies are as follows (listed by serial no.):
1) serial no. 6, typewritten cancel of 11-17-43 breaks paper in two spots, ex Joyce and Wampler
2) serial no. 8, typewritten cancel of 9-5-46, ex Cunlife, Sohn and "Scarsdale"
3) serial no. 12, manuscript cancel of 1-6-44, ex Lyons and Floyd, the example offered here.
