FINE-VERY APPEARANCE. A SCARCE COMPLETE SET OF THE 1860 IMPERFORATE ISSUE. THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE ALL THREE VALUES OF THIS IMPERFORATE VARIETY AT ONCE.
According to Brookman, the 24c, 30c and 90c 1860 Imperforates come from a trial printing of the finished designs submitted to the Postmaster General for final opinion. The designs and colors match the regular issues (unlike essays and trial color proofs). For many years these were listed in the front of Scott Catalogue. Only one pair of the 90c is known, which we sold in our 1994 Rarities sale.

FINE. A SCARCE ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE 30-CENT 1860 ISSUE.
This block clearly demonstrates why it is so difficult to find this issue with choice centering. The narrow space between subjects on the plate makes it almost impossible for the perforations to clear the design on all four sides.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE 30-CENT 1860 ISSUE.
Ex Lilly. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1860 ISSUE.
With 1990, 2005 and 2012 P.F. certificates (OG, VF-XF 85) (Image)
FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE USED EXAMPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1860 ISSUE WITH WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY A FANCY CANCELLATION.
Most used examples of the 90c 1860 Issue have either a circular datestamp, standard killer or pen cancel. The stamp offered here, with an unusual cancel consisting of a grid of small rectangles, is an extremely unusual example of a non-standard killer cancel on the 90c 1860.
Ex Saadi. With 1973 and 1993 P.F. and 2014 P.S.E. certificates. (Image)
