Remarkable series of eleven matching top pane blocks of sixteen with full selvage on three sides, with 9p, 1a, 2a, 4a, 6a, 6a8p and 8a Regular Issues (SG 58, 62, 69, 72-73, 78, 80; Scott 22-23, 26-28, 32-33), also -1/2a, 1a, 2a and 4a Officials (SG O20, O23, O27-O28; Scott O17-O20), 8a with additional row of "Cancelled" in top selvage, few with inconsequential faults in the selvage

VERY FINE AND ATTRACTIVE SHOWPIECES OF THE DE LA RUE "CANCELLED" OVERPRINTS FROM THE SINGLE SHEET RETAINED BY DE LA RUE FOR THEIR ARCHIVES.

Large margins to touching at right, used with -1/2a Blue and 4a Green (SG 54, 69; Scott 20, 26), tied by "Masulipatum JY 9 70" and "68" duplex datestamps on registered cover to Bombay, Hydrabad transit on front and red boxed registered backstamp with manuscript details, cover with small faults incl. piece missing at top right, -1/2a stamps with minor faults

FINE AND EXCEPTIONALLY RARE -1/2-ANNA IMPERFORATE USED ON COVER.
