1794 og ImageGERMAN EAST AFRICA, 1916, 2-1/2h-1r "Wuga" Provisionals (41 Footnote; Michel III W1, IV W2, V). Without gum as issued, horizontal pairs of 2-1/2h (Ty. I-II) and 7-1/2h (Ty. II-I), 2-1/2h and 1r with slight toning as is often, still Very Fine and rare, produced by Evangelical Mission in Wuga by German East African authorities due to low supplies and prior to release new stock arrived, these were buried (to prevent capture by British) and recovered in 1922 with about 5-10% survival rate due to climate conditions, 1r signed Bothe BPP, Michel €2,170 (Image)

Violet "2-1/2 Heller Frei la Ein Nachw in Tanga" handstamp tying label to wrapper with Tanga May 20, 1916 circular datestamp at left to Tabora, Very Fine and rare, these handstamps were used as supplies of stamps were depleted and were markings of cash payments for mail delivery, they were discontinued in June 1916 as new shipments of stamps were received, signed Bothe BPP (Image)
