1080   ImageNEW SOUTH WALES, 1887-90, £1 Rose & Violet, Official (O22; SG O38). Centered to to right as are the few other examples we have seen, rich colors

FINE. A SOUND USED EXAMPLE OF THE VERY RARE 1887-90 1-POUND OFFICIAL. ONE OF THE KEY STAMPS TO COMPLETING A NEW SOUTH WALES COLLECTION.

The Stanley Gibbons catalogue notes only nine copies are recorded, three unused and six used. One of the used is in the Royal Collection, leaving eight copies (five used) available to collectors. Since the copy offered here was found in an old-time collection, we do not know if it was included in these totals.

With 2016 B.P.A. certificate. Quite undervalued in Scott, probably due to its infrequent appearance in the marketplace. SG £18,000 (Image)
