VERY FINE APPEARANCE AND AN ATTRACTIVE STAMP.

The only red circular datestamp used on the Franklin Carrier was the "New York" in dateless circle, thus this is probably a very rare usage in that city. Ex Bailar. With 1979 P.F. certificate (Image)

Durand, President of the Academy, New York N.Y.", stamp with a vertical crease on right side of Franklin's head, Fine appearance, a rare unused example of the Franklin Carrier stamp, with 1977 and 2013 P.F. certificates stating the stamp is genuine but declining opinion as to whether it passed through the mails, also accompanied by 2000 note from Calvet M. Hahn who noted the stamp was genuine but probably did not originate on this cover, which is addressed to the famous engraver Asher B.
