anniversary of the Battle of the Falkland Islands. It is believed this error occurred when a sheet with the center showing the "Glasgow", which was used for the 2-1/2p value, was accidentally included among the supply of the 6p value, where it
received the wrong frame. Stanley Gibbons notes about 25 have been recorded. The reason the majority have not been found is that most were included in new issue shipments, and the error was not discovered until the vast majority were dispersed.
Collectors and dealers received them without knowing their special significance. Many collectors hinged them in their albums, making for an unusually large percentage of hinged examples in the marketplace. Until just recently, the copy offered
here had the same fate as many others for the last 50 years. It had gone unnoticed and was included in the set of four as the normal 6p stamp. The current consignor bought a dealer's stock that included this "set". The consignor was shocked when he
