FINE. A SCARCE EXAMPLE OF THE "CANAL" ONLY OVERPRINT ON THE 17-CENT SCOTT 91.
According to Canal Zone Stamps, this error occurred on one pane when the overprint was shifted downwards. It also occurred on one stamp due to a foldover, and is occasionally found on some shifted overprints from the bottom row of a sheet or sheets. There are perhaps a total of fifteen in existence, including at least one other with a trace of the word "Zone".
With 1969 A.P.S. certificate (Image)
FINE AS ALWAYS. ONLY TEN ERROR PAIRS WERE PRODUCED.
This error occurred in one sheet when the overprint was shifted one full row to the right. Of the ten possible pairs, a few remain intact in blocks. With 2006 P.F. certificate (Image)
VERY FINE. THE FINER OF THE TWO KNOWN COMPLETE BOOKLETS.
According to Canal Zone Stamps, the 3c Lincoln was in production for only a short period of time before the switch was made to the 3c Washington stamp. Only one intact booklet and four panes are reported by the authors; the booklet offered here was apparently unknown to them.
Ex George Brett. Scott Retail as two panes, with no premium for intact booklet with covers and interleaving. (Image)
