EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 10-CENT TYPE IV, FROM THE SO-CALLED "MISPLACED RELIEF" POSITION.
The 1857 10c Type IV stamps come from eight positions scattered throughout Plate 1 that have the top, bottom or both lines recut. Only 4% of all 10c Plate 1 stamps produced were Type IV's, and an even smaller percentage was issued with perforations. This is the only position on the right pane of the plate which was recut.
With 2002 P.F. certificate (Image)

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1857 ISSUE FROM PLATE 1. A DIFFICULT STAMP TO FIND IN SUCH SUPERB CONDITION.
With 2006 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $2,650.00). Only four have graded higher. (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1860 ISSUE FROM PLATE 3, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE PROMINENT DOUBLE TRANSFER AT BOTTOM.
Ex Floyd, Tahoe and Kirke. With 1990 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $1,950.00 with no premium for the double transfer). Only one stamp has graded higher (at 98). Considering the extraordinary margin width -- almost unheard of in this issue -- and the centering and face-free cancel, we consider this a very strong 95, if not a 98. (Image)
