1629 c Picture Postcards, Souvenir Cards and Advertising Cards. A wonderful collection of several hundred in binders, much of it is classic Victorian Era "schmaltz" -- cherubic faces, flowers, frilly dresses -- but there are many humorous and a few truly offensive cards, also includes small group of Civil War era cartes-de-visite (portraits, no military) and about 200 postcards seemingly sent by friends travelling around the world in the 1950's and 60's but actually promoting Abbott's brand of sodium pentothal (!), generally Very Fine, now that a century separates us from many of these cards, the style and content are fascinating, and occasionally horrifying E. $ 400-500

SOLD for $600.00
Will close during Public Auction
