1550 c Fancy Cancellations on Cover. Balance of the Dr. Robertson collection, comprising a few hundred covers mounted on exhibit-style pages in seven binders, considering the importance of this collector's holding, this "balance" is far superior to most collections, includes such noteworthy cancellations as the Worcester Mass. Negative "North-South" Handshake (partly clear strike), Danbury Conn. Negative Hat in Circle, New York City Devil's Mask, Cambridge Mass. Skull, Knoxville Tenn. Horse's Head, Hornellsville N.Y. Jack O'Lantern, St. Louis Sunface, Pittsburgh Pointing Hand, Hay's City Kan. Negative "76", Duncannon Pa. "76", Concord N.H. "76" Liberty Bell, Augusta Ga. "U.S.", Albany N.Y. "U.S.", Princeton Ill. Negative "79", blue "Spring Flower" of Warren Pa., Pittsburgh Negative "HR" in Circle, Philadelphia "HENRY", Garland Pa. "OK", Mystic Bridge "MB", Blairstown N.J. "JDV", Richfield Springs N.Y. "EAH", colored cancels of South Deerfield Mass., standard types of killers including many Stars, Pinwheels and "U.S. Mail", a couple of better frankings incl. strip of No. 68 with Portland Conn. Outline Star to France, and 15c 1869 & 3c Bank Note registered cover with Egg Harbor N.J. grids, mostly clear strikes, minor faults in stamps or covers but selected for attractiveness, an outstanding group of this classic American art form, considering the current prices realized at auction and charged by dealers for fancy cancels, our estimate is extremely conservative -- it could take years and many thousands of dollars to assemble a comparable holding E. $ 3,000-4,000

SOLD for $7,500.00
Will close during Public Auction
1551 c ImageHarrisburg Pa. Precancellations. Dr. Robertson's mounted exhibit collection of the Harrisburg Pa.
