There were five of them which made my stamps up to sixty. Gus Fisher has got eighty two stamps and I can not think of any more. 2630		10c Yellow Green, F. Grill (96). Tied by quartered cork, "Morristown N.J. Apr. 1" circular datestamp on yellow 1869 cover to Leipzig, Germany, addressed to Harry Van Arsdale, endorsed "Hamburg Steamer" and with red boxed "Hamburg Franco" handstamp, with original March 28, 1869 enclosure with great stamp-related contents incl. "Stamps are all the rage here, nearly everyone is collecting them. The new U.S. stamps will be issued on the first of April. The one cent stamp is headed with the vignette of Franklin, & also those of two other men. The two, three and twelve-cent stamps have illustrations of railroad trains, steamboats and horses. Mar. 20" circular datestamp on 1866 all-over illustrated cover to Geneva, Switzerland, advertisement for Kline's Emporium and mentioning postage stamps, red "N.York Br. Pkt. Paid Mar. ?" circular datestamp, red "12" credit handstamp, blue boxed "Aachen Franco" handstamp, transit and receiving backstamps VERY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE USE OF AN EARLY STAMP DEALER'S ADVERTISING COVER TO SWITZERLAND. According to research by Mr. Belasco, Kline's Emporium was run by John W. Klein (spelling differs from how it is printed on the cover). Under the name A.C. Klein, he published the first stamp catalogue in the United States in 1862. 2635		1862-76, Stamp Dealers' Tokens. Six tokens, incl. copper "Jas. Brennan U.S. Postage Stamps 37 Nassau St. Foreign", eagle and "Union For Ever" on obverse, two other Brennans with Gen. George B. McClellan on obverse, one copper and one brass, also brass "Mason & Co. 1870 Coin & Stamp Dealers. No. 139 9th St. Phila." with Washington on obverse (see lot 2633 for Mason & Co. covers), finally two J.W. Scott & Co. centennial tokens depicting Liberty Bell and Minuteman, small chain holes at top of last two, overall Very Fine, a scarce and fascinating group of stamp dealer tokens, James Brennan was one of the first New York stamp dealers, after working for George Hussey's local delivery service he opened an office on the famed Nassau St. in 1861 -- perhaps the first to do so (Image) Search for comparables at SiegelAuctions.com	E. 750-1,000 SOLD for $475.00 Will close during Public Auction
2636		1c Bright Blue, Reprint (40). Used with 1c Ultramarine (212), tied by circular cork cancels, "Hoosick Falls N.Y. Feb. 20" circular datestamp on cover to New York City, "Karl C. Miner, Hoosick Falls N.Y." dealer handstamp at top left, receiving backstamp (yeardate is unclear), vertical file fold well away from stamps, minor edgewear, 1c Reprint with couple tiny flaws VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE ON-COVER USE OF THE 1875 REPRINT OF THE 1c 1857 ISSUE. The addressee, Karl C. Miner, was an active stamp collector and dealer in Hoosick Falls. He was charter member 32 of the American Philatelic Association, joining in 1886. Henry Clotz was a collector and charter member 47. This was no doubt philatelically inspired, but no other example of the 1c 1857 Reprint is known cancelled, and this appears to have been accepted for postage. It was used in 1888 or later. Holton, a Boston stamp dealer, addressed to Norman K. Mason in Providence R.I. VERY FINE. A RARE AND DESIRABLE USE OF THE ONE-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE ON A MULREADY FACSIMILE STAMP DEALER'S ILLUSTRATED COVER. Only seven covers bearing this issue are recorded, including one with a slightly different Mulready facsimile design sent from the same sender.
