VERY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE USE OF AN EARLY STAMP DEALER'S ADVERTISING COVER TO SWITZERLAND.
According to research by Mr. Belasco, Kline's Emporium was run by John W. Klein (spelling differs from how it is printed on the cover). Under the name A.C. Klein, he published the first stamp catalogue in the United States in 1862.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE ON-COVER USE OF THE 1875 REPRINT OF THE 1c 1857 ISSUE.
The addressee, Karl C. Miner, was an active stamp collector and dealer in Hoosick Falls. He was charter member 32 of the American Philatelic Association, joining in 1886. Henry Clotz was a collector and charter member 47. This was no doubt philatelically inspired, but no other example of the 1c 1857 Reprint is known cancelled, and this appears to have been accepted for postage. It was used in 1888 or later.
Ex Emerson, Neinken and Wagshal. With 2011 P.F. certificate (Image)
