2382° c Image1c Black on Salmon Pink, Postal Card, Error of Card Stock Color (UX9d, USPCC unlisted). Mint card, tiny scuff near top likely from the brick that was used to weigh it down during shipment, small stain on back, otherwise Very Fine and rare, with 2005 A.P.S. certificate, the salmon pink stock was used as protective sheets on top of stacks of normal buff card sheets during transport from the Wilkinson Paper Mills, they were weighed down with bricks and were intended to be returned for use in later shipments, some were accidentally printed and found their way into the hands of collectors, unpriced in USPCC which footnotes these as "counting markers", though we are informed that this information will be corrected in future editions (Image)

2384° c Image1c Black on Buff, Postal Card, Double Impression, Second Impression Inverted and Quadruple Split (UX10a var, USPCC S10a var). Mint card, offset of another impression on back

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE POSTAL CARD ERROR, SHOWING ONE NORMAL IMPRESSION AND AN INVERTED IMPRESSION QUADRUPLE SPLIT. THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED.

Accompanied by 2009 P.F. certificate stating "Genuine Scott UX10a, the card miscut, with one complete impression inverted, and portions of four cards printed normally." Whether the central impression was the first "normal" impression, which makes more sense to us and matches the Scott Catalogue listing, or the quadruple split was the first "normal" impression and the center was printed inverted as stated on the P.F. certificate, cannot be conclusively proven. However, this is of little consequence. Collectors can display this card in either orientation as it suits their tastes. We have not seen another example of this error and this may well be unique.

2386° c Image1c Black on Buff, Postal Card, Albino Impression (UX12 var). Mint card, strong impression showing the complete design in relief, slight trivial hinge thin on back of no consequence since this is the only known example, Extremely Fine appearance, ex Falberg, with 2010 P.F. certificate and accompanied by normal card, listed in 2005 USPCC as S14a, de-listed in 2010 USPCC, likely the result of two sheets being fed into the press at once, the bottom receiving a light impression of the design but no ink (Image)
