VERY FINE. A MOST IMPRESSIVE EXAMPLE OF THE RARE ONE-POUND CARMINE AND REDDISH MAUVE ERROR OF COLOR.
This error was discovered in 1924 when Stanley Gibbons, Ltd. acquired all of the remainder of the Double Heads, and two sheets of fifty stamps of the One Pound were found to be in Carmine and Reddish Mauve colors. The vast majority are centered to the bottom and/or right. Also, the stamps from both sheets possess gum disturbance to some degree, with this example having only a minute trace of disturbance.
With 1992 Holcombe certificate. SG £10,000 (Image)
VERY FINE. AN ENORMOUSLY RARE BLOCK OF THE 1919 TWO-PENCE ADMIRAL IMPERFORATE BETWEEN.
The error pair is very rare and seldom appears at auction. We have not been able to locate another block.
Catalogue values are as two error pairs. SG £13,000 (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE. AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE AND STRIKING PAIR. ONE OF THE KEY ERRORS OF RHODESIA. ONLY A SINGLE ROW OF ONE SHEET IS RECORDED, WITH THIS BEING TWO OF THE TWELVE KNOWN EXAMPLES.
With 1967 Philatelic Federation of Southern Africa certificate. Catalogued as two singles. SG £12,000 (Image)
