GERMANY
LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
4249 P Mi.VK imageSemi-Postals. 1945 NSKK/NSFK prepared but unissued set of two rose red, perforated and affixed on gray card together with the SS-SA set, v.f., card numbered "I", with closed tear at bottom, signed Buhler. A great rarity from Germany (The two unissued stamps were planned for May 1945 and were printed at the government printing offices in Vienna, but they were never delivered to the postal service in Berlin, due to the collapse and surrender of the German Third Reich. The stamps were to have commemorated the Motor Corps (NSKK) and the Flying Corps (NSFK). Some of these stamps were discovered by Allied forces in Vienna after the end of World War II and were destroyed. A few cartons did escape destruction, probably via the pockets of Allied soldiers returning home after the war, and they are certainly prized philatelic rarities today) cat. €80000 (Cat No. Mi.VK) (Image)
