1909 (1 Mar) coverfront (somewhat defective) with 10c franking, sent from Vintimille, Nice to Mukden, Manchuria, with Changchun, I.J.P.O. arrival and "Transit a decouvert en Extreme Orient est defendu" handstamp, returned to sender (Commandant Forzinetti, formerly of Cherche-Midi military prison where Capt. Alfred Dreyfus was first held. Forzinetti was convinced of Dreyfus's innocence and is credited as the first Frenchman to protest his innocence. His military career ended in the early 1900s and Forzinetti lived in Monaco for the remainder of his life) (Image)
