1502	O, ,		LARGE LOTS AND COLLECTIONS SWITZERLAND Military Stamps 1914-1944 Soldier's Stamps, World War I and WWII issues, collection of 2,500+ in glassines or small cards and on what appears to have been an extensive exhibit, also 77 covers or stationery cards, various units, including Aircraft Battalions, Aircraft spotters and Air Defense, Cavalry Brigades, Cyclists, Food Supply, Frontier Troops, Medical units, Panzer detachments, Territorial Troops, etc., some perf. And souvenir sheets, sheetlets of six and eight, also with pages from a catalogue issued for these labels. (Known in Switzerland as "soldier's stamps", they were issued to the troops for free during WWI. This was presumably to help keep them in touch with family and friends back home, while they were serving at the frontiers. Each unit had its own design.
