Württembergisches AuktionshausJoachim Erhardt GmbH Sale - 149

149th Worldwide Public Auction - September 19, 2026

Special auction of classic German philately, the “Artemis Collection”.

Old German States are well represented, with Baden, Bavaria, Thurn and Taxis, Württemberg, and North German Confederation all featured. Württemberg forms the bulk of the section across several large runs of lots, while Bavaria shows strong representation across multiple groupings; Baden, Thurn and Taxis, and North German Confederation round things out in smaller, more concentrated runs.

The German Empire portion centers on the 1872 issues, alternating between Small Shield and Large Shield types in single lots and small runs throughout. Later issues add depth, including the 1875 Pfennige design and the 1889 Crown and Eagle, along with a handful of general German Empire lots not tied to any specific issue.
