Part printed salary receipt for £1,000 (8.8 x 3.5 inches) from Quebec, dated 3 Nov 1797. Given by Robert Prescott covering his salary from 1 May to 31 Oct 1797 as Captain General & Governor in Chief of the Provinces of Upper & Lower Canada. Folded but in excellent condition. Prescott had a distinguished Military Career serving in the Seven Years War, the French & Indian War, the American War of Independence, the expedition against Louisbourg in 1758, & other exploits.
