NURSE'S MEMORIAL PLAQUE:
Rare large size bronze WWI British Memorial Plaque issued to honour "Martha S. Farley" who died of illness contracted on duty as a Nurse at Adelaide Hospital in Dublin, Ireland in 1918. Ms. Farley was awarded the
Royal Red Cross in 1917 for exceptional services in Military Nursing. Her extensive Military Nursing experience included time in Hospitals in England, South Africa & Ireland. "SHE DIED FOR FREEDOM" plaques are extremely rare and it is estimated that
only 600 of these plaques were issued as compared to approx 1,355,000 of the more common "HE DIED FOR FREEDOM" plaques. Approximately 4.5" in diameter. (Image)
