Rare pre-Independence pre-stamp folded letter dated 14 Oct 1765 from Osbornes, James River VIRGINIA COLONY addr to Kilmarnock by Glasgow (Scotland). Has early s/l "SHIP" marking & m/s "5" paid marking and letter deals with a parcel of goods received and the death of a local merchant. F, some paper degradation sensibly reinforced with hinges.
