Worldwide Internet/Mail Sale - January 25, 2023

Welcome to our January 25th, 2023 auction. This is our 360th auction since we started running our sales back in 1972. We are continuing our tradition of offering our bidders a wide aray of worldwide material with over 6,800 lots to choose from. Here are some of the highlights:
  • A nice section of Great Britain with Plated Penny Blacks, QV values to One Pound, and a great selection of intact older booklets. The Officials include a rare mint example of the 'VR' Official (Scott #O1, Cat $35,000).
  • Extensive Canada singles and sets with many key items in the 19th Century issues. Don't miss the sections of modern errors, OHMS Perforated Officials, and Semi-Official Airmails.
  • Excellent British Commonwealth with many scarce higher values particularly in the KGV era.
  • United States with a good lot of classic issues, many with Certificates, including mint examples of #'s 28, 64, 79, 85B 85E and 120.
  • Hundreds of lots of worldwide covers and postal history. The USA and Canada sections include many scarcer items.
  • Many great lots of postcards including Switzerland military types and early France aviation.
  • An interesting section of coins including silver and gold types.
  • Strong section of Germany and related areas including older mint never hinged sets and singles, Zeppelin stamps and covers, and Booklet singles.
  • Hundreds of larger lots including collections, accumulations, box lots, and dealer stocks. These lots should prove profitable to collectors and dealers alike.
Don't forget that there is No Buyer's Fee at Vance Auctions and bidding is in inexpensive Canadian dollars. There is no extra charge for credit card use. Bidding information displayed at Stamp Auction Network for our auction lots is now being updated. Bidding on items in the sale will continue until Midnight EST on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

Please note that bids come in from many sources in addition to SAN (including e-mail, telephone, fax, mail, and our own web site). Even if your bid is 'green' at SAN when bidding ends, you could still be outbid. If your bid turns 'red' after Midnight on the last night of bidding, it means that a higher bid was received from another source before Midnight. Auction results for Sale #360 will be posted at www.vanceauctions.com on the evening of Saturday, January 28th.
