This is one of the rare occasions where catalog value is irrelevant; if the buyer pays over catalog value, then the catalog value will be changed in future editions of the Scott Specialized Catalog. Only 4-5 plate blocks are known; 2 with 6 stamps, Scott lists a unique plate block of 8 with a dash and a note that it is unique with light hinge marks, but neither lists nor prices the unique plate block of ten that has not been sold at auction in almost 90 years; our review of online sales records of Nos. 244 and 244a plate number strips of 4 located a mere 5 of the former with only one appearing on Stamp Auction Network in 2013 and 3 of the latter, appearing in 1999, 2013 and 2021, with 1992 P.F. certificate (the image on the cert indicates a prior P.F. certificate no earlier than the late 1970's).
